Thank you for taking the time to visit St. Juvenaly and His Companion Orthodox Church’s website. The church building is new, but Orthodox Christianity is not. Orthodox Christianity was established by our Lord, God, and Savior Jesus Christ on the day of Pentecost over 2000 years ago, and St. Juvenaly is the direct descendant of the Russian mission to the Upper Cook inlet that began with the first visit of Russian missionaries to Old Knik in 1830 and continued with the founding of the original St. Lazarus Mission to the Valley in 1986.
The Church, founded by Christ at Pentecost, continues its mission to bringing the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all here in Wasilla, Palmer and the Mat-Su Valley. We hope that you find this site helpful and informative, and as an aid for your spiritual journey. We encourage all to “come and see,” to visit and to worship with us and experience Orthodoxy here in Sacred Alaska.
We are a Pan-Alaskan and multi-ethnic parish serving the Palmer-Wasilla area and our services are primarily in English with a mixture of Slavonic, Unangam Tunuu (Aleut), Yupik, and Tlingit.
St. Juvenaly and his Companion Orthodox Church relies on generous donations from people like you to continue to keep our doors open, and we greatly appreciate your financial gifts.
Tax receipts will be issued for all eligible donations.
